Glass manifestation is required to make glass visible. It is required by law on glass of certain sizes in certain locations, and must be applied to specific locations to meet with the appropriate legislation. The requirement is often met by using rows of dots or other small shapes and designs, but can also be met by using solid bands or strips.
Manifestation is often required on glass partitions, which can also benefit from an element of privacy. That was the case on this occasion, and a creative approach was taken to delivering a solution to both issues.
The client created a design featuring the outline of a cityscape, designed to run across the width of the glass – preventing colleagues and visitors from seeing into what was a meeting room, whilst also meeting manifestation legislation. As an added touch, the design was inverted and printed directly below, giving the illusion of a reflection. The effect was enhanced by printing the top half of the design in Frostbrite frosted film, and the bottom half in acid etched frosted film, which has a slightly different shade and appearance.
The result is an attractive installation that provides users of the meeting room with the necessary privacy, meets manifestation regulations whilst also adding an interesting and attractive feature to the office.
