On occasion however, privacy is required and an application of window film will help.

Privacy can be necessary in a number of situations, whether it be blocking the view from the outside in, or delivering an element of seclusion for internal meeting rooms. The Window Film Company offer a range of different products and solutions, each designed to meet a specific need.

Daytime one-way privacy

Daytime one-way privacy can be achieved with an application of reflective window film. The privacy element is delivered by the reflective appearance of the film, which during daylight hours will always be on the exterior side of the glass. Passers- by will be greeted by their own reflection, whilst those inside the building will retain their view to the exterior. This film is ideal for delivering privacy without sacrificing too much natural light or blocking the view from the inside out.

The mirrored effect provides a stylish appearance, and there are various shades and grades available including classic silver, green, blue, gold and bronze. Reflective film is also available in both internal and external grades.

Two-way privacy

When two-way privacy is necessary, Frostbrite frosted film is a popular and highly effective choice. Once installed, frosted film will give glass the appearance of sandblasted or acid-etched glass. As well as giving glass a contemporary appearance, the film will also prevent vision from both sides of the glass. Frosted film has the added benefit of blocking the view without blocking natural light, meaning privacy is achieved without making it feel unnecessarily dark.

For occasions where it is also desirable to block the light, solid colour vinyls can be applied to glass. Available in a range of vivid colours, coloured vinyl will provide complete privacy from both sides of the glass whilst also blocking the majority of incoming light. Due to heat absorption, vinyl isn’t suitable for application to all glass types – our fully trained account managers will be able to provide further information should you require it.
