Protect your premises. Protect your people.

The uncertain global situation means that we face an unprecedented range of threats and potentially dangerous situations. Thankfully, the most serious of incidents are extremely rare, but precautions are still necessary.

The Window Film Company offer a range of products, solutions and systems that can protect your premises from everything from petty criminal damage or attempted unlawful entry, to a large scale explosion.

Safety and Security

Glass panels in certain locations and above a specific size are required by legislation to meet safety standards. This can be achieved by retro-fitting safety window film, which is available in a range of thicknesses and finishes. An application of safety film will ensure that glazing meets the appropriate standards without the need for expensive replacement glass.

The film works by giving the glass an added protective layer, which in the event of breakage will hold the glass together in the frame, preventing the broken shards from falling in on themselves and creating a dangerous hazard. Security film works in a similar fashion, the added thickness provided by the film serving to make the glass more resistant, whilst holding the glass together should it be broken. By keeping the broken glass together, it is a lot harder for any intruder to gain unlawful access via a broken window.

A Madico Safety Shield Premier Partner

As a member of the Madico Safety Shield Premier Partner programme, The Window Film Company are able to offer a range of specially developed attachment systems, designed to provide the best possible protection in the event of a bomb-blast or other serious incident. Whilst no window film or associated system can totally remove the threats posed by an explosion, utilising the correct system can provide the best possible protection.

There are four attachment systems available, each of which is installed in conjunction with an application of high quality window film.

1)      Wet Glaze Anchoring System. This method sees a triangular bead of structural silicone added to the joint between the safety film and the window frame.

2)      Gull Wing™ Anchoring System.  This system uses a flexible membrane that is attached to both the filmed glass and the window frame.

3)      LifeLine™ Anchoring System. Used primarily in factories or industrial locations, the LifeLine system works by applying energy absorbing cords across the window. These cords catch the filmed glass in the event of a blast, preventing it from entering the building and causing damage.

4)      FrameGard™ Anchoring System. A mechanical attachment system that clamps the filmed glass to the window frame, keeping the glass within the frame in the event of an explosion.

Safety, security and bomb-blast mitigation is an incredibly serious issue, so it’s vital that advice is sought before deciding on a solution.
