There are two main types of privacy window film; one-way daytime privacy or two-way permanent privacy.
One-way privacy is achieved with an application of reflective window film. The film displays reflective properties on the side that is brightest and during daylight hours this is always the exterior facing side of the glass. The mirrored appearance prevents vision into the building, whilst maintaining a view to the outside. Reflective film also benefits from allowing good levels of natural light to pass through the glass, meaning privacy is assured without sacrificing the view or a significant amount of light.
One-way privacy is available in a number of different finishes and grades, meaning an appropriate choice can be made to match the appearance of the building, whilst external grade film is available for when an internal application isn’t possible. The reflective properties of one-way privacy film will also deliver additional benefits such as glare and fade mitigation, as well as solar control.
Two-way privacy can be attained with a number of different products. The Window Film Company’s Frostbrite range of frosted films provide glass with a classic acid etched appearance, delivering an elegant and stylish privacy solution at a fraction of the cost of etched glass. The film will prevent vision from both sides of the glass, but has been specially developed to allow the maximum natural light transmission possible. Frostbrite frosted film is also suitable for printing onto, and by using state of the art print technology, The Window Film Company can create eye-catching bespoke privacy film, created to your exact specifications.
In addition to frosted film, some glass is suitable for the application of coloured vinyls. Available in a range of vivid shades, coloured vinyls are ideal for when privacy is required with no need for natural light. This range of films is often used to guarantee privacy during building works or other commercial projects.
